2009 UEFA Cup

The UEFA Cup is a football competition for European club teams, organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). Replacing the Inter-cities Fairs Cup in 1971, the 2008/09 season will be the last for the UEFA Cup, before changing format to become the UEFA Europa League. After the UEFA Champions League, it is the next most important European competition for men's club teams. In order to qualify for the tournament, clubs are judged on their performance in national leagues as well as national cup competitions.
